Patricia Williams Lessane and Conseula Francis College of Charleston, Avery Research Center Drs. Lessane and Francis discuss the Avery Research Center’s upcoming annual conference, “Unleashing the Black Erotic,” September 18-21, 2013. This conference will explore race, gender, and sexuality, and may be Avery’s most exciting conference yet!  This year’s Avery Research Center Fundraiser will be a concert and reception featuring Fisk University’s Fisk Jubilee Singers. This sterling event will held at the Circular Congregation Church (150 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC) on Friday, April, 19, 2013 at 7:00 PM. The reception will immediately follow the concert. The tickets are $25 and available at alumni.cofc.edu/jubilee.
